Model: RE815X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

How many of you out there were decived by the selling of this Extender as being for the AX5400 Tri-Band router? This extender only supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and not the 6 GHz band but at the time Amazon was selling it as the extender for the Tri-Band router. Now that I am ready to use 6 GHz devices, TP-Link says I need a new extender (RE-815XE). This was clearly deception at it's finest to dump the RE-815X's that were already manufactured before they released the RE-815XE's. I'm pretty steamed that right on the extender it says it's for the tri-band router when it dosn't support 6 GHz, and we have to purchase another extender in order to get the 6 GHz band extended.

@Dave2148 The specs clearly say 2.4 and 5-1 and 5-2.  No mention of 6 GHz at all.

@DVair I understand that the specs say 2.4, 5-1, and 5-2, but at the time I purchased it the advertisement said "Tri-band" extender and extender for Tri-band AXE75 router (thats even printed on the extender itself). thats the deception. This was at the time that the AXE75 router was brand new and the RE815X was brand new. See at that time they didn't even have the RE-815XE (the extender that truly is Tri-band (2.4,5. and 6 GHz)

@Dave2148 I bought a RE815XE a long time ago from BestBuy.  Similar to the XE75 you have to see "E" to get the 6E, aka 6 GHz band.  I'm sorry you got mixed up...
