Apple devices not automatically connecting to wifi after being used on another network

I replaced my ISP-provided router with a DECO setup. They all seem to work and throughput is faster. I have some apple devices (mac, ipad, iphone, watch, TV). They connect to the deco setup fine, and reconnect properly after going to sleep etc.
But if I take the phone, ipad or mac elsewhere and connect to a different wifi network (say at work) when I get home they won't autoconnect to the deco wifi any more. Once I remember to manually connect them then all is well.
FWIW, the watch reconnect properly but note it only supports 802.11n. The devices that don't reconnect properly all support 5 Ghz.
I didn't see any comments in the forum mentioning this -- has anyone found a fix?

Sorry for the late reply. Below you will find some troubleshooting steps you can try to see if it resolves your issue. If none of the steps below help please let us know.
1. Restart Everything:
- iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Shut Down, then power it back on.
- Deco Unit: Unplug the power cord, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. You may also need to reset the Deco by pressing the reset button for a few seconds, or by removing the unit in the Deco app and then plugging it back in.
2. Check Network Settings:
-
Forget and Rejoin:
In your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings, find your Deco network, tap the "i" icon, and choose "Forget This Network." Then, try rejoining the network by selecting it and entering the password.
-
If forgetting and rejoining doesn't work, try resetting your iPhone's network settings. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Be aware that this will remove saved Wi-Fi passwords and other network configurations.
3. Update Software:
- iPhone: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Deco: Check for firmware updates in the Deco app. Go to More > Firmware Update.
4. Other Potential Issues:
- Private Address: On your iPhone, in Wi-Fi settings for your Deco network, ensure "Private Address" is disabled (turned off).
- DHCP Lease Time: Check your router's DHCP lease time setting.
- Network Saturation: If you have too many devices connected, it could cause the Deco to disconnect. Try gradually adding devices and monitoring performance.
- VPNs: If you're using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily to see if it's interfering with the connection.
- Bandwidth: Ensure your internet connection has enough bandwidth to support all connected devices.
- Location: Make sure you're within range of the Deco unit.

@dvhw There's typically a setting for you to automatically connect when within range? (On iOS). Anyways wondering if 18.6 may have solved the issue?

@HelpFixDecoApp Thank you! I deleted the configuration for our SSID on all the devices, rebooted them, and then added them back to the network. After that, automatic reconnect is working properly.
I appreciate your help.
