Spectrum compatible router
Our son just got Spectrum 100 Mbps service. They leased him Wifi 6 Router model SAX1V1K.
i would like to buy a router to avoid the monthly fee.
Can someone give some recommendations?

I used an Archer A20 for many years with Spectrum. Twice what you want to spend though.
Still, more info on 'what' requirements the Router would have? Like Wireless Speed, AC. AX, or BE. (WiFi 5,6,or 7). Number of Ethernet connections to the Router. Nunber of devices connecting wirelessly.
Spectrum has a 'habit' of increasing speed (along with its price increases). I've gone from 100Mbps in doubling speed every 2 years or so, to 1Gbps now, with a limited upload speed but going by the end of the year 1Gbps up/down.
Buying for the future (Wifi 7) might be wise, because many new PC's and devices can use that speed. Save you from having to buy a new router in a year or two.

@mmitsch He will probaly need a cable modem too, Spectrum has a list of approved modems on their website.
