Model: RE505X
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.6 Build 20240403 Rel 46496

Yesterday:

I installed an Archer BE550 router replacing a nighthawk.

My wife's office wasn't getting great signal (exact opposite side of the house) so I ordered a RE1500x to do the Easy Mesh thing. (I know, I could have gotten the WiFi 7 to extend the 6ghz too, but money is tight)

Today:

Installed the RE1500X and my wife's office is better BUT...

My Android phone is now getting IP Configuration Failure *on the extender* but if I am closer to the router (for 2.4/5) or connecting to the 6ghz network, it's fine.

There are 5 devices connected to the extender acc'd to Tether

So, obviously, it's something about the extender and my Android not making for a good connection.

I am not seeing anything on a search of the forums, so, any help would be appreciated.

NOTE: I am guessing on the Model? Walmart lists it as 'AX1500' and 'RE1500X', but it looks like it matches 'RE515X' on TP-Link's product list, which isn't an option on the list above.

@jaydeflix First of all both use the Tether app as I understand?  Have you updated the firmwares to the latest (via the app)?  This is the simplest way to get the correct firmware version....

@jzchen sorry about disappearing. Both are running current firmware and no, the problem hasn't gone away.

ETA: it might have gotten worse, tbh. I'm regularly dropping wifi on the phone. iPad seems fine no matter where it moves. The Android just seems to hate moving from the router to the extender and seems to get confused between the two and regularly throws the IP Configuration Failure AND a Bad Password error (the password has not changed). Honestly, I'd like to just see some logging on the TP side that will let me see what is happening when the phone gets errors to try to figure out what is going on.
