Cant get 2GB ethernet via my BE63's
I recently upgraded my DECO XP75 system to BE63 to benefit from the 2GB fiber Ethernet available from Brightspeed and share between PC’s avoiding switches.
For sure there is 2GB from their ONT when Cat 8 HW direct to my PC, but not if I take the same cable to my MAIN BE63 and connect with Cat8 cable via LAN ports to the same PC. Then it’s only 1GB.
I'm in the process of updating my other cables in case that is (part) of the issue, but I suspect there is more to it.
So here is what I have tried:
From their fiber ONT via a new Cat 8 cable. 2GB direct to my primary PC. YES
Using their GigaSpire Blast u6t GS5229E and same Cat 8 cable, 2GB direct to my PC.YES
Using same ONT output and cable direct to my Main BE63, Decor AP confirms it is getting 2GB (actually shows 2.23Gbps) and the 2 Satellite units work fine (1 is HW) but that PC only gets 1GB. NO
I think I read that if using the GigaSpire unit it should be set in Bridge Mode to allow the B63 to act as Router and handle network IP addresses, but the Brightspeed tech (very knowledgeable) insisted that they don’t support that. I wonder what don’t support really means! Doesn't really matter I don’t want to use their router even for Wi-Fi
So, what to do?
I absolutely want 2GB to my 3 PC’s that are HW together via BE63’s
There are about 45 devices connected to Wi-Fi, none of them are crucial to be high speed.
Update, all HW is now CAT 8.
I was unable to select HW/Model version from the pull down list.... - mine show US 2.6
Why are my B63’s not passing the 2GB via the LAN ports?
