Model: Deco BE11000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I switched from the asus ax11000 to the be11000. Previously the Asus openvpn was working flawlessly. The only change was the router. Now, while I can connect to the vpn, I cannot see any of the remote PCs. What would be causing this

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that after switching your router to Deco Mesh, you can connect to your OpenVPN server, but you are unable to access remote PCs or devices on your home network.

Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot this issue:

1. Ensure Your VPN Server is Set Up Correctly:
• The Deco VPN Server (including OpenVPN/WireGuard/PPTP/L2TP) requires a public IPv4 address. IPv6 VPN Server is not supported yet on Deco.
• Open the Deco APP and go to MORE > Internet Connection > IPv4. Check if your WAN IP address is public. If your ISP provides a private IP, the VPN Server will not work as expected.
• If you have another router in front of the main Deco, make sure port forwarding is set up correctly on that router for the VPN ports.

2. Check VPN Server Settings for Client Access:
• In the Deco APP, go to MORE > VPN > VPN Server, select the VPN Server you created, and make sure 'Client Access' is set to 'Internet and Home Network'. If it is set to 'Home Network Only', you will not have Internet access through the VPN, but you should still be able to access local resources.

3. Accessing Home Network Resources:
• If you are unable to access devices like PCs or servers on your home network after connecting to the VPN, check the firewall settings on those devices. Since VPN clients are usually assigned an IP from a different subnet, the firewall on your PC/server/NAS may block connections from the VPN subnet. Try disabling the firewall temporarily or configuring it to allow access from the VPN subnet.

4. Additional Information:
If you continue to have issues, please provide the following information to our support team for further diagnosis:
• Your WAN IP address
• Screenshots of your VPN Server configuration in the Deco APP
• Screenshots of your VPN Client configuration (on your phone or laptop)
• VPN connection logs (e.g., OpenVPN logs) from your client device

Let us know the results after following these steps, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

  @HelpFixDecoApp

I have tried the above steps. I can not provide screenshots as the deco app has disabled that("This app does not allow screenshots"). I am using vpn subnet 10.8.0.0, UDP and port 1024.
