Model: Deco BE63
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 Build 20250324 Rel. 32980

I have been having intermittent issues with my wireless connected second node going offline. It will show a yellowish flashing light then goes red and connects back green after a minute or so. I noticed this has been happening more often after I received my iPhone 17 pro, not sure if it could be related. My main node connected to my ATT fiber ONT has been solid and never goes offline like my second node does.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your second Deco Mesh node, which is wirelessly connected, intermittently goes offline, showing a yellowish flashing light, then red, and then reconnects with a green light after about a minute. Your main node remains stable and connected to your ATT fiber ONT.

Based on your description, the flashing red LED and offline status indicate that your satellite Deco Mesh unit is temporarily losing connection to the main Deco. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

0. Wait for Auto-Recovery: Satellite units can sometimes recover on their own. Please wait 3-5 minutes to see if the unit reconnects automatically.

1. If the Main Deco Was Recently Reset: If you have reset your main Deco recently, the satellite units may need to be reset and reconfigured as well.

2. Isolated Satellite Issue: If only one satellite unit is flashing red while others are fine, the issue is likely with that specific unit. Make sure it is within Wi-Fi range of the main Deco. Try rebooting the satellite unit by unplugging its power and plugging it back in.

3. All Satellites Flashing Red: If all satellite units are flashing red, the main Deco may be the source of the problem. Check the LED color on the main Deco and try rebooting it.

4. Remove Ethernet Cables: If you have any Ethernet cables connected to the satellite unit, temporarily remove them to see if the unit recovers.

5. Check ECO Mode: Open the Deco app, go to MORE > ECO Mode (if available), and make sure ECO Mode is turned off.

6. Contact Support: If the issue persists or if the flashing red problem happens frequently, please contact TP-Link support and provide the results of the above troubleshooting steps.

If you suspect your new iPhone 17 Pro may be related, it's unlikely that a single client device would cause the satellite node to disconnect, but you can try disconnecting it temporarily to see if the issue persists. Also, ensure your Deco Mesh system firmware and Deco app are up to date for best performance.

@HelpFixDecoApp Onyl the two deco's in my setup. Main deco has not been reset at any point in the near past. WiFi strength shows strong at all times, it just randomly goes offline any at given time during the day. No Ethernet devices connected to it.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you have two Deco units, and while the main Deco has not been reset and Wi-Fi signal strength is always strong, your satellite Deco randomly goes offline at different times during the day. There are no Ethernet devices connected to it.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this unstable connection issue with your satellite Deco:

For Satellite Deco Unstable/Dropping Issues:
1. Placement: Ensure both the main Deco and satellite Deco are placed in open areas, not inside cabinets, shelves, or corners. Proper placement helps maintain a strong and stable connection.
2. Distance: Move the satellite Deco closer to the main Deco. The ideal backhaul signal strength should be at least 2 out of 3 bars.
3. Ethernet Cables: Since you mentioned no Ethernet devices are connected, you can skip this step. However, if you ever connect an Ethernet cable, try removing it temporarily to see if the issue resolves.
4. ECO Mode: Open the Deco app, go to MORE > ECO Mode (if available), and make sure ECO Mode is turned off.

If you continue to experience issues after these steps, please contact TP-Link support and provide the results of the troubleshooting above. This will help us assist you more efficiently.

@HelpFixDecoApp I disabled MLO and it's been solid since then. Hasn't dropped a single time and my devices no longer drop off WiFi while roaming

Slow speeds from your Deco's MLO (Multi-Link Operation) feature can be caused by client device limitations, interference, or settings like QoS. To fix this, ensure your client devices properly support MLO, check for firmware updates, and optimize Deco placement. You can also try disabling Quality of Service (QoS) or 2.4 GHz band or try placing the Decos in different locations.

After disabling QOS re-enable MLO and see if your speeds stay the same. If they worsen then disable MLO again.
