Weak signal to outdoor security camera.
We have ATT fiber optics via a Nokia BGW 320 supplied by ATT. I've installed three nodes, (one direct wired to the modem, as per instructions.) The house is an old L-shaped, sprawling 1-story Frankin-Ranch style concrete block structure that's been added to a few times before we bought it to total 2800sf. So, lots of retaining walls that have become inside walls. From the modem to the node in our bed room is a 45' straight line of sight. The node sits on the window sill. Outside, about 7' from the node, I tried to install a Baseus S2 security camera off the eve. It started strong, but within 30 minutes the security camera got no more love from the wifi. Uninstalled, dragged it back to the other side of the window, and set it next to the resident node, and the signal has spent the last three days bouncing between medium and weak according to the Baseus app. The node is RIGHT THERE. Like, 2' away. Nothing between camera and node but air.
I've turned it off and on again. I've forgotten then re-connected the camera. I've cussed at it. I've shifted the node about. I'm considering hardwiring the modem-node to the satellite-node. The camera is fully charged. There's just two people living here using 3 ipads, two phones, 2 smart tvs, two watches, and one Apple computer. No partridges in a pear tree. What do I need to do next? My first thought was to get an outdoor extender and hard wire it to the node just inside the window. But if the node is getting/giving a weak signal, what good would that do? Anyone got any help? Thanks
