Hi everyone. I bound myinfo.tplinkdns.com to my router and have been using it for about a year. I had to factory reset my router and once a logged into my tplink account i noticed my binds were gone and section was empty. I can also see that my binds are still pingable but to my old IP address.

When i try and re-enter my binds it says already registered. So are they lost forever to the ether?

I thought that when i log back into the tplink account in my router my registered DDNS re-populate.

Also does anyone know if the DDNS binds expire?

Thank you for the help

  @McDx I'm not sure I saw this info anywhere, but I guess it's best to unbind the router before resetting, then re-bind it when you are ready.  I have no idea if you can request that it be released.

  @jzchen

This really sucks for two reasons. One if you don't unbind before you factory reset you'll lose your DDNS bind. And two basically no one can ever use that address again until its released somehow?
