Model: Deco BE11000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 build 20250324

I set up a 3 deco system a few months ago and for most of that time all has worked perfectly.  My main deco is in my office on the main level of my house.   There is a wired satalite in the basement and a wireless satalite upstairs.  Internet is verizon 5g cube and sits next to the main deco on my desk.

As mentioned this exact setup has been fine for several months but lately the basement deco keeps dropping offline.  In the basement I have a 4k tv that I have had wired and wireless and several smart switches.  Last time I looked i had about 40 clients on the entire system and 9 on the basement.  Over the course of a movie last night I lost connection probably 7 or 8 time for a few seconds which means the movie stops and I have to start it again.  If I watch the app the network images changes and the basement device shows offline and then maybe 10 to 15 seconds late it comes back on but shows that it's connected via wifi for a bit and at some point it shows ethernet again.  This has been fine and I haven't changed anything on the network setup.  Any idea what could be causing this and or how I can troubleshoot it?

Thanks

@Greenstarfish03 If you can first verify the service side is still stable.  You may also try rebooting the Deco Mesh system.  (Maybe there's a very small memory leak and it eventually causes issues).

@jzchen I've rebooted the whole system several times and the issue comes back the same day.  What do you mean by service side?  I have service from my ISP yes if that is what you mean b/c I have WiFi from my main Deco and the remote satellite upstairs.  The satellite that is hard wired and all of the clients attached to it are the only ones that keep disconnecting.

One other weird thing is the mobile app appears to be weird as well.  It provides very inconsistent information. Clients jump all over the place from deco to deco, I have a device hardwired to the basement satellite deco that shows as being hardwired to the office.  When I go to wifi settings I only see my main 2.4 and 5 GHz, my 6Ghz, and the MLO networks.  The guest network has disappeared.  Just a lot of weird things int he app which may or may not be related. This feels like almost certainly a hardware or software issue w/ the basement deco.  Its hard to tell though bc the mobile app doesn't have a lot of ability to look at any details and there isn't a desktop app.  How do I even know if the satellites are using back haul or not.  I can't see much in the app.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

@Greenstarfish03 I think I understand now that the wireless satellite is working properly.  If that is the case then that quells my concern that the WAN side became an issue...

Maybe you can try to swap the two satellites, move the stable one down and the wired/unstable one up.  If the instability switches to the other unit then one of the devices may be causing the issue.  I'd one by one disconnect the clients connected to the downstairs node until stability returns, then you found the culprit.  If on the other hand the instability moves upstairs then the Deco became faulty.

Monday

@jzchen that seems like an easy thing to rey.  I can swap the upstairs and downstairs or the wireless (working) and the wired (not working) satalite and see what happens.  Thanks i will give that a try tomorrow and report back.

Re:3 deco system issues w wired satalite.
Yesterday

@jzchen I switched the upstairs and downstairs deco's so now I guess we will wait and see what happens.  DonI need to do anything when I swap the devices?  It seems like the clients in the basement are still connecting to the same deco even though it's upstairs and pretty far away.  Shouldn't the devices automatically switch to the deco w the best single?  Or do I need to ki k the devices off?

Thanks
