Model: Kasa HS220   Kasa HS200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.11

Light SW: HS220 (FW 1.5.11 / HW 1.0)

Fan SW: HS200 (FW 1.1.5 / HW 3.0)

Starting about 2 days ago, sometime on Dec 5, 2025, the Alexa Routine stopped triggering, or stopped triggering instantly (a delay of over a minute) when the switch is toggled. However, if I toggle the switch directly or trigger the routine from the Alexa app, then everything works as expected and with minimal delay (within a second or less). This suggests that there may be a latency between TP-Link sending a switch state change (On/Off) to Alexa causing it to not trigger the routine to take action.

These routines were newly created and never worked correctly from the start. At around the same time, my other Alexa routines that had been setup and working for years with similar type switches also stopped working at around the same time so I do not believe this is related to the routines being new.

Was there a recent change on TP-Link's network that could be causing this issue?

My Alexa Routines:

1. When Light SW (HS220) is turned On, it will trigger Fan SW (HS200) to turn On.

2. When Light SW (HS220) is turned Off, it will trigger Fan SW (HS200) to wait 30 mins and then turn OFF. (For troubleshooting, I removed the wait so that it is instant)

Just to add, as part of the troubleshooting steps, I have deleted and recreated the Alex’s routines which did not make any difference (still not working).

  @Jackles

I would try to create the routine using the Kasa/Tapo app to see if it's on tp-link's end or alexias.

In the Kasa or Tapo up click on Smart from the bottom then at the top click on Automation then click the plus sign at the top and choose Automation

For the "When" select add trigger then select device Light SW and set it to on

For "Then" select add trigger then select  Fan SW and set it to on

Then hit create

Then try turning on Light SW with either the app or by the switch itself and see what happens

If that works it might be on Amazons side then

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
