Why aren't the ports grounded on BE63?

Model: Deco BE63
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2 build 20250718 rel 43949

I anticipation of changing my ISP to one supplying 2.5Gbps Internet and higher to come, I uppraded my outside cabling to CAT 8 with prewired connectors, they are quite cheap now. That ISP didn't work out, horrible latency, and i'm back to my previous ISP and 1Gpps with the promise of higher speeds soon (and more importantly still with low latency).

MyY ISP uses PoE and the device has metal couplers for the shielded CAT 8 cables, but I notice that my BE63's don't. I know there are different schools of thought about grounding 1 end or both, but my primary BE63 feeds 2 others via CAT 8 cabling and 2 via backhaul.

As they support 2.5 Ggps transfer (as do my PC's) that prefer CAT 6e or higher, why don't the BE63's have grounded ports? My TP-Link 2.5Gbps router has metal (grounded) ports

I don't have a problem with data corruption that I'm aware of, and I understand not many devices have grounded ports, but when feeding hardwired between BE63 devices it seems a failing from the view point of design to not be able to ground the CAT 8 cables.

PS: Why doesnt the drop down menu allow selecting the correct HW version  2.6 in my case.

@BritG1 Typically the firmware is the same for all 2.xx so I guess they just made their pull down menu to match...

I understand that you are concerned about the lack of grounded Ethernet ports on your Deco BE63 units, especially given your use of shielded CAT 8 cabling with metal couplers and a PoE-based ISP setup. According to our knowledge base, the Deco BE63 (and its hardware-identical models BE65 and BE11000) feature 4 x 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports, but these ports are not specifically described as grounded or designed for shielded cable grounding. This is a common design choice for consumer mesh networking products, which are primarily intended for indoor residential use where electrical grounding of Ethernet ports is not typically required for reliable data transmission or device safety. While your TP-Link 2.5Gbps router may have grounded metal ports, Deco mesh units prioritize ease of deployment and compatibility with standard home wiring. As long as you are not experiencing data corruption or connectivity issues, the absence of grounded ports should not affect performance in typical home environments. If your installation involves industrial-grade cabling or environments with high electromagnetic interference, additional grounding measures may be considered, but these are outside the standard design scope of Deco mesh products.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

I'm going to treat the answer as a whoops. Its quite plausible, but in a time when streaming is taking over, ISP's are offering high speeds, and upgrading of older built in limited speed cables is becoming more common, while router units will remain inside, cabling may not (as in my case) or have to takes routes exposing them to higher risk of interference.

We are talking pennys here and left hand not sharing philosophy with the right hand. IMHO systems intended for domestic application and less expert users, need to be more robust not less.

it is something I will look out for if I'm around long enough to require another update

@BritG1 Probably because for conductive wire/cable that is run outdoors right at entry to a building they are usually terminated, grounded, then indoor wiring continues to the modem...
