I'm looking for a guide or some help setting up my Deco too the t-mobile gateway. I'm currently connected with Cox and I want to change over. Can i just add a new network to my current setup or do I have to do a reset on my Deco's and start from scratch?

Thanks for reaching out! I understand that you're switching from Cox to T-Mobile and want to know if you need to reset your Deco system or if you can keep your current setup when connecting to the T-Mobile gateway.

Good news • you don't need to reset your Decos or create a new network! You can keep your existing Deco network and simply update the Internet Connection settings. Here's what you need to do:

1. Power on your main Deco unit and connect it to your T-Mobile gateway. The LED indicator may turn red, indicating that there is no Internet connection yet.

2. Connect your phone to the Deco Wi-Fi network. Although there will be no Internet access initially, you can still manage the Deco network via the Deco app.

3. Open the Deco app and navigate to More > Internet Connection > IPv4 > Internet Connection Type.

4. Select the Internet Connection Type required by T-Mobile. Most likely, you'll want to select "Dynamic IP" since the T-Mobile gateway will provide an IP address to your Deco. If T-Mobile provided specific connection details (such as PPPoE username and password), enter those instead.

5. If necessary, go to MORE > Internet Connection > IPv6 and update IPv6 Internet settings as well.

That's it! Your existing Deco network, Wi-Fi name, password, and all your settings will remain the same. You're just updating how the main Deco connects to the Internet through your new T-Mobile gateway.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
