Regarding website logins and VPN:
When you enable VPN Client on your Deco (connecting to an external VPN service), it can potentially affect website logins in certain situations. Some websites may detect that you're connecting from a different location/IP address and may require additional verification, block access, or log you out. Banking sites, streaming services, and some regional websites are particularly sensitive to VPN connections. However, this is normal VPN behavior rather than a Deco-specific issue. If you're using VPN Server on your Deco (allowing you to connect back to your home network remotely), this typically shouldn't interfere with website logins.
Regarding VPN speed:
Yes, VPN does impact speed, and the extent depends on your Deco model's CPU performance. Models with more powerful CPUs achieve higher VPN speeds.
For models such as Deco X50, X55, XE75, and XE75 Pro, the typical OpenVPN Server/Client speed is around 10–20 Mbps, while WireGuard can reach approximately 100 Mbps.
For higher-end models with more powerful CPUs, such as Deco BE65, BE85, and BE95, the typical OpenVPN Server/Client speed is around 200–300 Mbps, and WireGuard can reach over 500 Mbps.
We recommend using WireGuard, as it provides faster speeds compared to other protocols and is not complicated to configure.
