I received an email from what claims to be "www.tp-link.com" which said "We noticed a login from a device you don't usually use."  It provided an IP address different from the one my iPad lists--and does not match my wife's iPad IP address.  I suspect this is a scam and it is best not to use their link to "reset your password to secure your account.".

@John_B1702 I would ignore it.  Look at the address of the sender and see if it is legit.

@John_B1702 It is possible to be a legitimate concern.  The IP addresses you noted might be local IPs assigned by your router.  The router WAN address assigned by your ISP would be the IP address recorded by TP-Link...

I suggest you change your password...

When you used your TP-Link device, did you create a TP-Link ID?

A TP-Link ID is used for logging in to TP-Link services such as the Tether app, Deco app, Tapo app, Kasa app, etc.

If you have a TP-Link account, and if this notification was sent from a legitimate TP-Link sender address, we recommend resetting your TP-Link ID password by visiting our Password Reset Page (Please note, this will also reset the password for your TP-Link Community Forum Login)

After resetting your password, we suggest enabling Two-Factor Verification for added account security. Depending on which TP-Link app(s) you used, we have FAQs that can guide you through the process of enabling this feature:
