2.4 network…

Model: Deco BE11000
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version:

I just set up my Deco and prior to my WiFi showed my 2.4 network and the 5. What do I need to do to add the 2.4 network back?

Welcome to the community.

By default, Deco combines both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under a single network name (SSID). This is by design — your devices will automatically connect to the best band available. It is not possible to directly separate them into two different network names in the standard settings.

However, there is a workaround to have a dedicated 2.4GHz network visible separately:

1. Open the Deco app, go to MORE > Wi-Fi Settings, and disable the 2.4GHz option for the main network. This makes your main network 5GHz only.
2. Go to MORE > IoT Network, enable it, and set it to 2.4GHz only. This creates a separate 2.4GHz network that your devices can connect to.
3. If you prefer, you can also use a Guest Network instead — go to MORE > Guest Network, enable it, and set the frequency to 2.4GHz only.

This way, your main network will broadcast on 5GHz (and 6GHz, since the BE11000 is a Wi-Fi 7 model), while the IoT or Guest network will serve as your 2.4GHz network. The IoT network option is generally recommended since many smart home devices only support 2.4GHz and it's purpose-built for that use case.

Thanks
