I was connected to phone support and after going through my computer settings they wanted to sell be their service for $89. and also wanted me to buy AVG from them for $129. What a scam, just wanted the right site to go to.

You didn't wrote for which router you want to know the password. Usually the default username/password is admin/admin on almost all products of TP-Link. If you did change and forget the password, reset the device to factory settings: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-426.html
