Hello forum,

Purchased a new TouchP5, parental control doesn't work. Its using latest firmware and build etc. Any ideas? I would think that TP-Link tests their stuff before shipping it out. I've used another TP-Link for past many years and Parental control was not a problem. Wondering why this doesn't work on new hardware. I'd hate to return it to the store.

Click on the "Parental control" link on left hand bar, choose device, setup time and save. I setup for all whitelisted, no restrictions so that it allows everything during the time specified but should block outside of those hours. I opened a ticket as well but it seems like this is a non-functional thing. Its there because it looks good to see that there may be some kind of parental control. It just depends on DNS not able to resolve but the irony is that when host is whitelisted, it has access to DNS that caches the resolutions, rendering the so called control useless.

If you want to block internet on all devices after 20:00, it's recommended to choose Whitelist without inputting any keywords. And then select the time (20:00-24:00) in the Schedule box, add all the devices that want to block and click Save.

Just to be sure: did you set the router's clock on the Touch P5 (menu Time Settings)?

- Time setting are “Get automatically from the internet” and Holland is GMT+1
- Content restriction “Whitelist”

Ad internet access time I select some time and then it fade to the Color green. Now the “green time” the internet is blocked and the “white time” th device can connect the internet.

So it works now even with the iPhone?
