Model : Archer C5400

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version : 161128

ISP : Comporium

I recently noticed a slow connection in my home wifi network. I have a TP-Link AC 5400 router, with the latest firmware update. When I discovered the issue, I rebooted both my cable modem and my router, no change. I restored router to factory specs and set-up router again, no change.

Where I use to be able to get download speeds of 40+MBPS, I am now only getting 12 MBPS on 5G, and 6 MBPS on 2.4.

I connected directly to my cabe modem, and I am getting 100MBPS without an issue, and nothing changed from a settings perspective from when the system was initially set-up... I've only had my router for 3 months.

Any thoughts?

I've got a similar issue with the WiFi. Wired 100+Mbps, wired 20Mbps or lower on all devices even if it's right next to the router. Where you able to figure anything out?

I had a similar problem using an Archer C2600. I was getting 90-100 Mbps on cable and 20-30 Mbps on wifi. I changed all the wifi settings to non-auto and now get 90 Mbps and above.
On the 2.4 band: WPA2-PSK only, AES only, Mode n only, 20MHz width, Ch 6, Power High (although you might want low power in a small room)
On 5GHz: all the same except Mode ac only.
Don't go too close to the router, or turn down the power. Use Wifi Analyser or similar to check the channel and power level.

I have the C5400 v2 with the latest stable firmware, 1.2.5 Build 20190411 rel.52981(5553).  I had to go into the QoS section of the Advanced tab on the home page of the router setting menu to manually edit the Total Bandwidth entry to 900 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up for my supposedly 600mbps Xfinity service.  At the wall of the house it was around 880 and at the modem it was around 680 or so.  Now, I get anywhere from 620 to 690.  No beta firmware required.

There is a button on the Basic tab of the Network Map page named Speed Test.  When I tested, it would register no more than 315/12 and that is what showed up automatically in the Total Bandwith entry in both the QoS  Application Priority page and Device Priority page.  When I manually edited the QoS Application Priority page entry to 900/20, the bandwidth restriction to both my wired and wireless devices went away.  It also automatically changed the entry in the QoS Device Priority page to match so that I didn't have to make duplicate entries.

Hope this helps...
