I recently upgraded to Gigabit Fiber internet and purchased an Archer C7 v2 router. Whenever I do a speed test directly to my ISP, I can get about 900 to 950 mbps download and upload speeds, but only within the first few minutes of rebooting the router. After about five minutes and until I reboot the router again, speeds average about 340mpbs for both upload and download. If I connect my PC directly to the fiber modem, I will get the 900 to 950 mpbs speeds at any time. Is there any router settings I can try to keep this strangle slowdown with the router from happening? Thank you.

I have the exact same problem with my Archer C7 v2.

I'm on the 3.15.1 Build 160616 Rel.44182n firmware, and my new 500 Mbit/s ISP speed on a wired connection drops to ~300 Mbit/s (stable) after a few minutes from restart. It acts as if the hardware NAT function is being disabled on the fly...

I could try openwt or dd-wrt,but they both lack hardware nat functionality.

I also have a 500 Mbit/s WAN.
My problem arise when I enable IPv6, on most of the servers on speedtest, I get insanely low speeds on wireless (both bands).
On possible workaround is to disable hardware NAT, leaving de NAT enabled, which solves - mostly - speed issues for wireless, but my wired speed stucks around 300-350Mbit.
Another solution is to set a bandwidth limit rule, close to, but higher then my ISP speed. Now, if my wired IP is included in the range, the best I can get is also around this 300-350Mbit.
I don't know how it's related, but
a.) check if you have IPv6 enabled
b.) try to set a bandwidth limit / rule

I contacted support with this issue and after a few emails back and forth was provided with a beta firmware which solved it.
