Hi,

Do you use LED control?
You can send an email to TP-Link support at support.usa@tp-link.com about this issue, and it's better to send the whole system log and the router's config file with the login account to the support, to help them analyze it.

Was there a fix for this?

I am getting the same messages in the log (constantly) related to the Led Controller "config importing failed".

No. This still exists in the 0801 beta too

Ditto after fw upgrade

I installed my C5400 (v2) early September. Nothing in the log, until about a week ago when I upgraded the firmware to the latest edition (1.2.2 Build 20170912 rel.56240(4555)).

It also started struggling with DHCP. Every day I have to enter the admin page and ask it to renew the DHCP lease from my ISP. The "Config importing failed" log messages seems to coincide with this activity. (In addition I find it odd/annoying that the admin interface doesn't tell me when the dhcp lease was obtained or how long it remains valid)

I have been in touch with tp-link support and I'm awaiting their reply.

The LED controller error messages seems to be an invalid message, They are showing when routers are starting.
If your routers are functioning well, you can put the error aside.
Feedback to TP-Link Support is necessary.

They asked me more questions: What modem do I use, who is my ISP and could I try hooking up my computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router...

In my case, I notice I get these messages when the C5400 is unable to secure a IP address from my ISP's DHCP server. Today I did not reach the admin page in time and it managed to retry its DHCP request on its own. When I later check the logs, there are two "config import failed" messages. I guess one when it dropped its DHCP lease and the next one (three minutes later) when it managed to obtain its DHCP lease.

It makes me really doubt the quality of tp-link's DHCP client, but surely they run their routers based on some Linux distro with a standard DHCP client? So something else must be up. Maybe I should switch ISP. Very strange that these problems cropped up following the latest fw upgrade.

In either case, I would very much like to see info on when the DHCP lease was obtained and when it is going to expire.

I experience these issues a couple of times each day.

TP-Link support also suggested a fw downgrade. I will try that soon.
