C5400 when I have the problem I am not able to see the 2.4 wifi in any of the devices. Channel shows as N/A in web interface and I don't have any problem with the 5 Ghz wifi. Only way to get the 2.4 back is by restarting the router. It will work for a couple of days and then the 2.4 disappears from the SSid list
I have set a fixed channel for 2.4. Smart connect is off. Any suggestion to get the 2.4 to work reliably.

Well, I'm coming back to this party.
I had my first C5400 replaced under warranty for a dead 2.4ghz channel. Now I have a new issue. The first 5ghz channel is off and cannot be turned on. I receive a message that 5ghz is not available in my country and I am located in the US. The second 5ghz channel is active. I cannot connect to either channel, nor are they visible. Security is off and I have reset the router without success. This router is garbage. I doubt that TP-Link will replace since it is a few months out of warranty. The firmware is the latest version also.
Happy it worked out for you. Hope my issue will get resolved too

I agree! The router offers nothing special. I miss the days when TP-Link actually produced quality routers.

c5400 v2 is the most expensive and more unstable router in my entire life. I hate this router. Everytime the wifi freezes and is necessary reboot.
The night led schedule not work and in the log appears a lot of "led controller error".
TP-Link abbandoned us with this useless expensive plastic piece

there are several bugs in the firmware one I have found is if you enable guest wireless and choose portal and choose to edit login page there is no way to reset it back to default images I have chosen images and it shows correctly inside the router but when accessed from other devices and I have tried multiple from laptops to ipads to androids and it does not show up correctly im unable to see the terms of use and the login button does not show up it also does not allow me to click inside the password box im not sure if its because the dimensions are not exactly correct when uploaded and saved or not but it doesnt say anything other than aspect ratio but we need a reset to default button without having to reset the entire router and lose all settings
