When I try to resolve a local hostname ("raspberrypi"), the router does not point to the IP of the local device with the hostname "raspberrypi".
How do I make this work?
My Deco M5 is set up to obtain DNS automatically.

Could you add support hostname resolve? There is so many cores on each node, a lot of RAM... but so trivial and helpful feature.

No not at this time. While we forward the request to R and D they will evalute the needs and then the priority of features. because of the time and legnth of time this process involves we usually only learn of updates in features when new product versions or new firmware are released and the feature is in the release notes.

I vote for this feature as well.
I'm so used to hostname resolving on my other routers. And I was quite surprised that Deco doesn't support it. To me it's so basic feature.
Could you please follow up on this with your R-and-D team?

@Carl I just converted my Deco's to router mode, from AP mode. Quite surprised to find out I can't contact devices on my local network via hostname! Local DNS is a core compnent to a home router. How could this not be included. It's not a "feature", its an expected function.

@IceFisher yes, I agree, it hurts a lot seeing that Deco app has a (textual) name for each device and these names cannot be resolved to address (e.g. name.local or name.ssid or name.tplinksomething)
