Insights feature on M5: Facebook active but not being used?

I keep a watch on our teenager using their phone with the Insights feature. What I found particular is that we know they use instagram, snap chat, youtube but not facebook, yet somehow on insights it will show facebook was used. For example instragram shows a usage of 1.1 hours but facebook use of 1.9 hours. Is there any reason why it would show facebook being used even though they did not go to the facebook website or use the app at all? Is it becuse FB social graph is interconnected to other websites and somehow runs in the back ground?
