How to allow devices on different SSID's to excahge communications TP-LINK AC5400

We are using an AC5400 router and have devices on both services (2.4g and 5g). Is there a setup otption that will allow the devices on different speeds to exchange information. (i.e. We have a database server that runs on 2.4 and it can't be "seen" by an iPad that runs on the 5g speed. If we reset the iPad to the 2.4g it DOES communicate. This problem occurs on some other devices where the services differ.)
