Deco M5 connection issues immediately after updating to 1.2.5
*NOTE* If your Deco app shows you are running 1.2.4 and it is up to date this post does not apply to you. The post below only pertains to users who updated to 1.2.5 through the Deco app. Following the procedure below while you are on 1.2.4 may cause unintended problems.
We have received inquiries by customers of connection issues soon after updating to the latest release of the firmware for the Deco M5.
Please try the following to resolve the issue you may be experiencing.
Find the problematic Deco unit that may be causing the connection issue, it will be pulsating blue. Once you have it, hold the reset button for 15 seconds to default it, now connect that Deco unit to your modem, make sure the other Deco units are powered down. You should have the following layout:
Modem > problematic Deco
Now use the Deco app to set up that Deco unit, and begin the firmware update. If there is more than one unit pulsating, do the same procedure for each one.
If after you do a factory default on the Deco unit, and you do not see the default wireless network broadcasting from the Deco unit, you will need a PC or Mac to wired to the Deco unit to update the firmware.
Download the firmware that has the instructions and utility here: (available by contacting support)
Make sure you have the following setup:
Modem > problematic Deco > PC or Mac
Extract the zipped file, and follow the instructions for the OS you are using.
