Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.0.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 170926 Rel.63400n

I have two escam qf700 wireless only cameras. I just replaced a old netgear router with the c3150 router but for some reason the cameras will not get ip addresses from the dhcp server on the router.The only cavet for the cameras is they will not work on 5 ghz .Turned 5ghz off still no IP. Any thoughts on why they will not recieve an IP? As far as I can tell from the logs the camerras do not request or they are requesting but the router isn't listening?

They had no issues with the netgear router with 2.4 and 5 turned on.

I think i found the problem. The cameras use XID for DHCp request? Wireshark trace of my old Netgear router:

When i tried to trace the c3150 nothing shows up. I am guessing because it does not recognize the XID?

So what to do? Return and go back to Netgear? Wait, who knows how long for a firmware fix if the XID is even the problem?

Justwork!!

@justwork

We have a few questions for you to better assist in this.

1.  What verison of the C3150 do you have?

2.  What is the Frimware build number?

3.  Can the camera work on 2.4?

4.  Are the 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ on different SSIDs

5.  Have you tried to assign a static IP address?

6.  Do you get any error messages?

Thank you

1.  What verison of the C3150 do you have?  Hardware Version? = Hardware Version:Archer C3150 v2 00000000

2.  What is the Frimware build number? = Firmware Version:3.0.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 170926 Rel.63400n

3.  Can the camera work on 2.4? The cameras only work with 2.4

4.  Are the 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ on different SSIDs Yes, turned off the 5ghz when i was troubleshooting just to make sure it was not interferring.

5.  Have you tried to assign a static IP address? Not yet since i will have to reconfig all my other devices if i go that route

6.  Do you get any error messages? None from the router the logs make no mention of the cameras when they try to get a IP from the DHCP

As I mentioned my Netgear wnr3500L-v2 wireless router assigns IP's to both camers when the cameras request their DHCP reservations. Since the C3150 is unable to assign IP's I can not reserve them in DHCP. I can turn off reservations on the Netgear and send you a trace of the DHCP communication with no reservation if that will help.

@justwork

Well since you probably gave up or never attempted to fix why your router does not recognize them. I ended up using my Netgear router as an access point. The cameras connect to that and thank god for netgear they somehow let the c3150 now assign them ip numbers.

So i bought your router to update and replace my Netgear but now I have to run both so i dont have to buy new cameras.

Thanks for nothing TP-Link.
