I wonder if Deco devices (especially M5) will be supporting OneMesh in the future?

I’m currently evaluating between 3x Deco M5 system and Archer A7 + 2x RE300 system for whole home Mesh WiFi solution. What I’m looking for is a solid mesh platform to start off with, and swapping out mesh devices gradually, one-by-one in the future when faster devices are needed.

I really like the Deco’s design yet I still want the power of tradition router, if Deco M5 will not be supporting OneMesh in the near future, I’m going to just go for the OneMesh route

Thanks!

No the Deco Systems will not support OneMesh.  OneMesh is an alternative to using existing TP-Link equipment and create a Mesh network, rather than replace your network equipment.  If you are really looking for a future proof system i would wait toward the end of the year.  I don't have an exact release date but we will be releasing the Deco X10 which is the AX based Deco System.

Thank you for the reply!

When the Deco X10 come out, would I be able add them into a existing M5 mesh network? Would I be able to enjoy the speed increase from the X10? It would be great if I can setup faster devices for the office & living room and setup slower devices for garage & back yard.

Yes All Decos can be combined with other types of Decos.  You can have upto 10 nodes.  Also i was just informed the name for the X10 changed to the X60 and its due in Q1 of 2020 now.
