wireless printer
wireless printer
im trying to add my wireless printer hp deskjet. When trying to add the printer i see my network, enter correct wireless password and get:your device failed to join the wireless network.
Issue:MAC address filtering may be enabled on you wireless router
Solution:if MAC address filtering is enabled on your router you should disable it.if you would like to keep it enabled you must first add the MAC address of your device to the list of permitted devices for you wireless router before continuing?I have no idea what this means as im not really good with all networking stuff.I believe its the deco because i disconected the decos and enabled the wireless on my verizon fios router and had no problem connecting the printer.

MAC filtering blocks devices not on its list from connecting. If the printer is the only wireless device not connecting, likely it is not MAC filtering. If your printer has the ability to connect to a device by using WPS, here is a FAQ that shows how to enable it for the Deco: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2332/
Essentially you follow the guide first to enable WPS in the Deco app, then you enable the WPS using your printer. Both devices will then talk to each other, and in the end the printer should be connected to your network.

Here is a link to the printer manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05439290
Look at page 62 in the table of contents (Chatper 7 - Connect your printer to a wireless netowrk with your router). You will follow the push button configuratoin, not the pin.
Once that is done, you then enable WPS for the Deco using the guide mentioned earlier: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2332/

I wonder if the printer is having issue joining the Deco network since both bands are the same name.
Try this:
-Go into your Deco app, go to "More" (bottom right), then "Wi-Fi". Enable the guest network, disable 5GHz, and tap on the password to use the same exact password you have for your main network. To the right of the main network you can tap the eye icon to see what you have for the Deco.
Once that is done, just how you connected your printer to your original router, try to now connect to the Deco guest network.

There may be a NETWORK RESET option on your printer, if not there should be a full factory reset on the menu of your printer. Try doing a network reset if available if not do a full factory reset of the printer.
EDIT: You will have to redo any fax or other settings if you do the factory reset.
