Model: Archer A6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20190712 rel.56946(5553)

I just recently replaced my old TL-WR841N with an Archer A6 v2. In the DHCP settings of the older router, I was able to set a default domain. I found this quite handy because I run a local DNS server for my local domain. But in the newer Archer A6, there doesn't seem to be any place in the DHCP server settings to specify a default domain.

Does this router really have no way to set the default domain?

@aristarchus

The A6 does not have that option. The routers that have the older interface still have that option. The Archer A5 has the default domain option you are looking for. However, the A5s Ethernet ports go up to 100 Mbps, not a gig like the A6.

What you can use alternativly for the A6 is the TP-Link Cloud which will allow you to create a DDNS name once binding your TP-Link ID account to the router: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1367/

What an absolute, flaming POS. I wish you would print on the face of the box : WE ARE INCOMPETENT AND THIS PRODUCT IS A PIECE OF TRASH

How does DDNS substitute sending a search domain with DHCP? Are you sure you understood the question?
