Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I've purchased and install Deco M9 units in the house to replace an old N600 TP-Link router.  Can the N600 unit be repurposed so that I could leverage the USB ports?  I'd like to attach a USB hard drive to the network, but the Deco's don't support this.  I'm hoping that I can put the old router to use.

@pickuptoy

I believe you are talking about the TL-WDR3600.

I think it should work with what you want to do.

What I would try is to assign a static IP address to the WDR, disable the DHCP server, and connect a Ethernet cable from the Deco to the LAN port of the WDR. So when you are on the Deco network typing the static IP of the WDR should get you to the login page of the router just to test you can get to it.

After that, you should be able to access it like you did when the WDR was your main router just referencing the new IP address.
