M5 - Disable QOS features
M5 - Disable QOS features
I'd like to entirely disable the QOS functions on the deco M5. How is that accomplished? It appears that once it's enabled, there are no means to turn it off.
Thanks!

You are right in that there is no option to disable it. There are firmware iterations that will completely disable HomeCare (Malicious Site Filter, Antivirus, and Device Quarentine), but that may be a older firmware version compared to what is officially released for the Deco M5.
Contact our support team and inquire about firmware that will disable HomeCare.

@Tony also trying to disable QoS on my M9 Plus. Weird it's a one way setting.

Since there is no off ticker, the next best thing to do is to set the Deco QoS to Standard. No traffic will be held above one another.

@Tony but it will keep the speed restrictions setting regardless. No way to set them to NULL

Is there already a solution? I want to turn it off as well!

Yes, TP-Link. I believe this to be a majorly-flawed approach.
For example, I've been having speed issues lately, so called my ISP and upped my bandwidth, but the QoS was still set to its last-measured speed. So although I had done speed tests from the mesh system that reflected the increased speed, at the devices-level, I could not replicate those speeds, as the QoS was still set to the previous, slower limits.
Finally discovered the QoS setting was wrong, and I had to do a specific speed test within the QoS configuration for the router to change those settings appropriately, but all this would've been avoided had QoS not been enabled in the first place!
I know you're trying to push all these anti-virus features on to us, but you should leave us the power to turn off QoS. Or at least have the top-level speed test feature verify and correct QoS settings as well.

I'm rocking deco M4s here and can't disable QoS in the app or the web interface. It's ridiculous. Any answer from toiletpaper-link on this?
