Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I can't get the base unit to connect to the Internet. I have Spark fibre in NZ. The instructions from spark to connect a non spark router are as follows... Adjust the settings to match the following:

Operating mode: MDI/MDIX

PPP protocol: PPPoE

PPP username: user@spark.co.nz

PPP password: password

PPP auth type: PAP

PPP mode: Always on (dial on demand disabled)

Encapsulation: 802.1Q

PCP marking: 0

VID (or VLAN): 10

MTU: Auto or 1500

The only options I get to set are selecting PPPoE and the username and password. I have tried and retried many times and everything about the set up goes fine until I connect my phone to the newly connected Deco network. It connects to the network fibre but there's no Internet connection. What am I doing wrong?

@KevinNZ

If you have a modem try setting the Deco as Dynamic IP, the modem may already be taking care of all the settings.

@Tony I tried that first time around and it didn't work. That's when I looked up what the settings need to be. Any other ideas?

Tell the ISP to issue you new credentials and veirfy with them the settings.
