Model: TL-WR940N
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 171030 (the last)

Hi everyone,

I have a TL-WR940N WiFi Router. Today I changed its IP Address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1, and set the DNS as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. After that, I can not log in to it. I tried to connect my laptop with wired connection too, but it does not work.

My question is: Does it only support the default factory setting IP Address 192.168.0.1 for user log in? Or do I have to set the DNS as 192.168.1.1 (the router's ip address)?

I tried with my Windows 10 laptop, my chromebook and my cellphone with the Tether App, but no one works. It worked well when I used the factory default ip address 192.168.0.1 as a router, and it also worked well as an access point using 192.168.1.1.

Is it the only way to reset it back to the factory default setting?

Thank you in advance.

@BoF

I think what you may be doing is changing the IP in the DHCP server, you only need to change the IP in the LAN menu and the DHCP server will automatically reflect that:

To factory reset the router, look behind it and you will see the reset pinhole, with a small object press and hold that for 10 seconds.

@BoF Thank you very much. I will reset it to factory default and then change its IP address in the LAN setting.
