You should be fine. You need to be able to get to a browser to set up the router. See https://www.tp-link.com/us/user-guides/archer-ax10&ax1500_v1/chapter-3-log-into-your-router chapter 3 for more info. If your version of Ubuntu supports any other router, it should support the AX1500 as the standards are the same and the router is backward compatible.
