Model: Archer A9
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version:

Hello,

So, I was running ipconfig /all on my work laptop.

the MAC address starts with 9A.

I decided to assign an IP for my work laptop on my home network.

I logged in to my router searched for the laptop, but on my router setting the MAC address starts with 98:....

All the rest of the digits are the same, except for the 2nd digit.  And this is the only device to appears like this.

Have you anyone experience this as well?

Do you have an extender or access point?

Hello,

Yes, I do. I have Archer A9 and RE450.

Is it because of  an extender?

I seem to recall seeing that with my extender. Power the extender and the PC off and power on only the router then check the MAC.

@ArcherC8

You are correct, the RE450 will give a different MAC address to the connected device for the sake of compatibility.
