Archer A6 keeps dropping wifi interface routing 0n 2.4G/5G and sometimes 5G connection disappears!
Connected wifi devices lose internet connection several times a day with it being restored in a couple of minutes. Wired connections do not have this issue. It has become very unreliable. I bought it a month ago. Return period has passed. Otherwise, would return it in a heartbeat. I need help to resolve this issue as it drops me out of important business meetings.
Total of 26-30 clients (6 direct attached - the rest are via another Access Point aggregating to this router). A6 issues all f the addresses and does the routing.
Also 5G SSID disappears at times and gets disconnected. The above issue is common between 2.4G and 5G.

Few questions.
1. Is the A6 fully updated on the latest firmware?
2. The AP that is connected. Is it a true AP or another router "acting" as an AP?
3. If its a router is it in router mode or AP mode?
4. How close to the base router (A6) is it?
5. Are its wireless on seperate channels?
6. What have you done to troubleshoot?

1. Yes. The latest FW
2. Router in AP mode located 25' away
3. ASUS N56U Router in AP mode
4. 25 feet away wired to A6.
5. They are both AUTO. But I tried manaul setting to separate them; however, it did not make a difference.
6. Tried manual channel setting and verfied wired connections are not affected. I think A6 cannot handle the number of clients attached (~30)

So what is acting as your router? And what is the purpose of daisy chaining the APs? Theoretically the maximum client is 32 per band for a total of 64 devices. But if you are connecting another router as a AP and using the A6 as a relay that could be leading to the overhead and causing devices to lose connection. Have you tried to disconnect the 2nd AP and see if the connection connectivity improves?

A6 is the router and I put my old router as AP to extend the coverage to back yard where A6 signal does not make it! I have tried with A6 all by itself with the same results with the old router turned off. By the way, A6 is the only DHCP server and gateway.

Okay so its Modem -> A6 -> Router in AP mode. 6 devices connected to the wireless of the A6 and the Rest to the other router acting as a AP correct?

I got two options for you. I can do a precautionary RMA and see if that resolve the connection issues or I can escalated to our engineering team and see if they are aware of a bug that is being worked on and or have a beta firmware to address this.

@Carl Interesting! "Convenience Fee"? How about I charge TP-Link for an "Inconvenience Fee" for selling me a product that does not work as promised!?
