What is the difference between Archer AX10 and Archer AX1500?

I’m looking to buy a Wi-Fi 6 router for use with my Oculus Quest 2. A YouTube video told me that the AX1500 router is good, but there are two of them with the same name, except one of them has the sub-name (I guess you could call it) AX10, whereas the other one has AX1500, same as its main name. It’s a little confusing how they’re named twice.

Anyway, does anyone know the difference between the AX1500 Archer AX10 and the AX1500 Archer AX1500? They’re roughly the same price, although on some stores in my country, the Archer AX1500 is more expensive.

Which one should I go for, and what are the differences? Any help is greatly appreciated!

@Aimjock

I guess you didn't search this forum.

Been asked before, and this one probably has a good answer from a TP-Link moderator here, https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/221894

Basically the same. TP-Link has many models that have similar spec's but different names.

To can Google that as well and get a few places to look at.

@IrvSp Thank you for your response.

I did find this post prior to posting: https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/176838

A TP-Link staff member said in that thread that other than where they’re sold, the difference between the two routers is that the AX10 router has a new feature in development that’s going to be added soon. That post was made a year ago, so whatever that feature was, I’m sure it’s been released in a firmware update now. I’m curious as to what that is.

If I’m going to buy one of these routers, does it matter which one I buy? Should I buy the Archer AX10 or the Archer AX1500?

@Aimjock

Buy a router that fits your needs, not one with some planned future enhancement.

If you note, the router is planned to have OneMesh which is a way of connecting multiple routers/extenders to get the best coverage for those that have coverage issues. See https://www.tp-link.com/us/onemesh/product-list/ for the current list. Several routers have been on this list and later removed. You can find other posts on this.

See the disclaimer (note) at the top.  Also note that the current router is version V1.20 and the link indicates the update is for version 1 not V1.20. I do not know if they are both considered version 1. I did note each has a different firmware load https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-ax1500/v1/#Firmware.

If you have coverage issues consider a true Mesh system as it a much better approach.
