Keep router in config or not?

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I just got the Deco M5 kit. Currently I have 1GB Kinetic internet from Windstream, which goes directly to my Linksys router. No modem. I do not have any ethernet devices attached to the router, just wifi. Is there any benefit to keeping the router and attaching one of the M5 nodes to it, or should I just attach the internet cable directly to the M5 and take the router out of the equation? Not sure if there is any benefit to leaving the router in place.

@MRF831

I would put the M5 in the place of your existing router, and keep the old router as a backup in case anything happens. Having two routers means two NATs which may cause performance issues.
