Hi All, This may be a silly question but I'm not sure what the answer is. I just switched from Google Wifi (where it worked fine) to Deco. My question is, I can control my Nest thermostat and Ring cameras just fine when I'm connected to my home Deco network, but when I'm outside of the home and I try to connect to these devices over the internet, I can connect to them but I cannot control them. For example, I can connect to the Nest thermostat and it looks like I can change the temp on the thermostat, but when I get home it has not been changed. This worked fine on my Google wifi network, and I did not have to update any settings, but with Deco it's not working properly. Is there a setting in the app to allow this or am I missing something else?

The Deco should have UPnP enabled by default but if that doesn't seem to be working you can try port forwarding: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1797/

 

Forward the ports: 443, 9543

 

 

Have something like:

 

Service Name: Nest

Internal IP: Select the Nest device

External Port: 443

Internal Port: 443

Protocol: All

 

Service Name: Nest 2

Internal IP: Select the Nest device

External Port: 9543

Internal Port: 9543

Protocol: All
