Hi, I am using a 120GB Kingston SSD with a USB adapter plugged into the back of my router. I can read files with samba and local ftp but not with internet ftp and I cannot write at all. It says I need to be an admin when I already logged in as admin. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

@Mathew_is_newb

First, have you seen this link? I assume you are on W10, https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/238660

It also could be a 'power' issue. Writing might require more power than the router can supply? Is the SSD sefl-powered via the USB adapter?

Do you have another device to try, like a flash drive?

This could also be a 'permissions' problem. Windows has a Credential Manager, and you might need to create one for the Router IP Address that contains the PC user ID and P/W to gain write access to the router? See this link, https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/221706 for details.
