Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20191026 re. 16299

I just purchased this router.  The Tether app is working well with the router.  Since I have time limits on the kids' devices, if they don't turn WIFI off on their devices when not in use, it still uses up their time.  But when they turn WIFI back on, it doesn't always recognize the device which means the name of the device and parental controls are lost.  How can I fix this?

     Also, is there a way for the kids to see time remaining on their devices?  I can see it in the Insights tab, but it would be nice to not be asked by my kids many times a day how much time they have left.  Thank you!

@TPDVM

That could be due to the random (private) MAC feature of your kids' mobiles.

If that's the case, check this article to see how you can mitigate this behavior.
