Hello, I have a requirement to connect two PCs via wireless local network (no internet). Sometimes, the PCs need to connect as part of a larger network using an additional Access Point, and sometimes directly between the two without the additional AP. I found that if I configure the TL-WR802N (300Mbps Nano Router) in Range Extender mode, the two PCs can communicate wirelessly with and without the other AP, as I hoped. However, I noticed that if the other AP is not on, about 10% of ping requests timeout, making the application unstable.

Can someone explain to me why that would be? Switching between modes (Range Extender to AP, and vice versa) solves the issue, but I was hoping to avoid it to simplify the process.

Thanks.
