Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20210730

I have the AX3000 router (Hardware Version: Archer AX50 v1.0) setup on a given subnet, and I want to cast to google devices (chromecast/nest speakers/etc..) on a different subnet.

Research has indicated to me that in order for this to work, I need the router to forward multicast DNS (mDNS).

How do I configure the AX3000 to forward mDNS?
It almost seems like there should be a passthrough option or something, but I couldn't find it.

Alternatively, are there other ways to allow systems behind this router to cast to devices on the other side of the router?

Thanks :)

@mr1011010111010

hello!  I think what you are looking for is under Advanced/Network/IPTV and is called "Wireless multicast forwarding"

it took me a bit of digging to find this.

@Jeddar - I got excited for a minute because what you described definitely sounds like it could be it, but alas when I looked the 'Wireless Multicast Forwarding was already enabled.

I did find some other articles that talked about enabling IGMP snooping (which I enabled as well). and still no device discovery unfortunately.
Currently, I have the following setup (still not working though)

'IGMP snooping' enabled
'Wireless Multicast Forwarding' enabled,
'UPnP' enabled

I'm sure someone must have solved this problem before...

Here are some other articles I've found:
