Question RE: RE-700X Gigabit Port
I have owned Range extenders previously and have been able to use their ethernet port as a way to connect non-wifi devices to the remote Access Point Network. I am trying to do the same with the RE700X, but I see no activity on the switch that it is connected to. See image below in case my explanation was insufficient on what I am trying to do.

Which mode are you using the RE700X in? That will determine if this works or not.
RE mode: This is the standard operation mode. The Range extender will connect to your home's router and extender the coverage. In this mode, the RE's ethernet port can be used for wired clients. However, the extender has to be in an area where the signal is strong. If the area its placed has a poor signal the service to the wired client isn't going to be very good.
AP Mode: In this mode, the Ethernet port is used to connect the RE700X to the router. Then it provides a wireless network, in this case, 2.4GHz and 5 GHZ, for clients to use. In this mode since the Ethernet is required to be connected to the router you would not be able to use it for a client.

This product has a client mode, which is specifically used to give a wired client, wireless network access. Its ethernet port is 10/100 so using it would limit your network speeds to 100Mbps, but its a option.

@Carl I have it set up in Repeater mode. I will check the link you provided. These speeds don't need to be fast.
