Model: Deco S4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

Many of my client devices are at permanent locations, meaning they don't move around the house. For example, they are streaming devices and smart plugs that will never be roaming between my Deco's.

Does it really matter if "Mesh Technology" is enabled or not for these clients? Is there any advantage to turning Mesh OFF? Maybe lessen some overhead monitoring?

Just curious about it.

Thanks,

Jerry

@JerryInTellico I believe it is intended for devices which are allergic to that feature, and would not react correctly when moving from one Deco to another.

The "monitoring" is done by the device, not by the Deco.  The "mesh" or "roaming" feature simplifies and accelerates moving from one Deco to another Deco, making it invisible for the user.
