Xe200 Deco with Xe75 Pro Mesh routing goes wildly unstable after firmware upgrades

Model: Deco XE200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 Build 20231120 Rel. 63583

I have 2 x Deco Xe200 (Firmware: 1.2.5 Build 20231120 Rel. 63583 )

- 1 x Main Router (connected to Google Fiber Modem - 1 TB Bandwidth)

- 1 x Wireless 6 GHz backhaul

And I have 2 x Deco Xe75 Pros (Firmware: 1.2.9 Build 20231225 Rel. 57498 )

meshed-in as well

After I updated the firmware, all of my devices have been playing musical chairs in dropping. I switched over from 1st Gen Google Wifi - and that was stable - allbeit lower speeds.

I have approximately 80 clients connected.

This is unbearable. Is anyone else having the same experience? I'm looking to replace this system by tomorrow if I can't get this working.

I opened a  support ticket and the two things that they had me change was to:

- Disable Beamforming - DONE

- and Change my DNS Address to Manual

- and also change the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4 - Also DONE.

Still having a chaos engineering operating and the peril of our ability to work and weekend comforts.

Any else have any suggestions before I get rid of TP Link Deco system - i'm open to it.

Thanks.

YES - SAME ISSUE!!!!

75 Pro 3-pack

Version 1.6

Firmware 1.2.5 build 20231226 rel 75366

My ISP was down for three hours during which my entire LAN was not working!? There is no reason that I know of as to why my internal network was not communicating.

After internet was restored, and my LAN was still down, I rebooted the DECO.

I have 31 devices and 17 were showing “offline” of which only 4 were truly offline? 8 items were WEMO wall plugs and switches, several Ring Cameras & 2 Chime Pro extenders, 2 Alexa devices and 1 was a lighting hub that is “wired” to a satellite.

I waited 24 hours to see if DECO would stabilize - did not.

Rebooted again and now most are reconnected yet voice commands to operate WEMO devices not working (although they now work via WEMO App) and still showing 9 devices offline - my iPhone and two lights that are connected and working.

This system is very frustrating, takes constant attention!

Should be flawless connectivity. WHY are stationary devices constantly dropping out and being displayed as offline whether they are connected or not - no logical reason for this to be happening. I have had a single router and a two-satellite system that ran these same devices for years without this much hassle.

I have had a Deco Senior Engineer access my network for 1 ½ hours - they could find no issues.

Suggested I move Ring devices to IoT network at 2.4 Ghz only - did that prior to this most recent incident where many of them still disconnected. WHY should I have to do this separate network when your recommended “connection preferences” defaults are AUTO?

VERY flawed firmware.

What is wrong?

  @Lihp  yeah - i'm shocked this isn't a bigger issue.

This is a major flaw.

It renders your entire network backbone unusuable. You literally can't wait for support beyond 24 hours.

I bought one for a business, and am reluctabt to upgrade.

I would have taken it back, but it was beyond the purchase 30 day return period.

  @itstruemental

Wow, I can't believe it's only the three of us!?

Or maybe we just have lemons.

I have asked for a refund - I plan to replace this mess with a Netgear Orby Wi-Fi 5 which ran these same devices for years flawlessly at Half the cost!
