EDIT:  I rebuilt everything from the ground up and it's working fine now.  Not sure what was causing it so I won't be able to tell you if you ask.

 

My WAP is connected to a pfSense router.  pfSense is configured with 3 VLANs (tagged as 110, 120 & 130).  I've got three SSIDs configured in the WAP to use those same VLANs (see the following screenshot).  But when I attempt to connect my laptop, all I get is that it couldn't connect.

 

I tried asking TP-Link support for help via their chat option.  But he was so focused on the fact that I get an IP address of 169.254.26.232 that it must be an issue with the modem or internet connection.  He didn't seem to get that even if I were to UNPLUG the modem from the network completely, the WiFi shoud continue to work for internal communication between devices.  So I decided to ask here in the hopes that one of you nice people might have some actually helpful advice.

 

I have a lot of IoT devices that use WiFi.  I wanted to segregate them from the more sensitive data on my network as well as prevent the traffic from those devices from slowing my other devices.  Ireland is what I connect my laptops on (one for personal use and one provided by the employer as I work from home several days a week via VPN connection to the office).  I think you can pretty much guess based on their names what the other two are for.

 

This is what I get when I connect my laptop to Ireland and them go to a cmd prompt & type IPCONFIG:

Here are some screenshots taken from within pfSense showing the configuration of the VLANS.  I realize that I'm not showing the firewall rules here.  If I were able to connect but just couldn't access anything, I'd be looking at those.

 I decided to go ahead and show what rules I've got cofigured right now.  They all allow ALL traffic regardless of which VLAN you're on.  Once it's working, I'll set it to be more restrictive.

 This has been resolved.  Something happened with my pfSense and I had some serious corruption.  I spun up a new VM and rebuilt the router.  The access point is working now.
