NEVER MIND: I figured it out. On the Advanced ---> System ---> Reboot screen, I had it set to reboot every day at 4:00 a.m. -- but the time on the router is set oddly, so 4:00 a.m. is actually 11:00 a.m.  There is a note saying, "Make sure Time Settings are correct before using this function," but I apparently ignored that note. Leaving this post up in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

There are many posts about random reboots, but I can't find one that addresses my particular problem: the router reboots or resets exactly at 11:00 a.m. every day. I verified that this is not a problem with my ISP (Verizon FIOS): shortly before 11:00, I plugged the cable from the FIOS ONT directly into my computer. The signal remained strong, but I noticed that the lights on the router went down to one light, exactly at 11:00 a.m. In other words, the router rebooted or reset itself somehow (that's what I assume is happening, anyway).

 

I thought the problem might have to do with the DHCP lease, but I don't think that's it. Verizon offers a maximum of two hours for the DHCP lease, and if renewing the lease were the problem, I'd lose my connection every two hours instead of once every day. Also, the router wasn't connected to Verizon when it apparently reset itself. 

 

Verizon, of course, wants me to rent one of their routers, as well as upgrade my Internet connection; they guarantee it will fix the problem. I had problems with my Verizon router, but mostly I got tired of shelling out what amounted to hundreds of dollars over the years, so I bought my own. Everything works fine -- except that my Archer router resets exactly at 11:00 a.m. This wouldn't be a problem; the connection goes out for a minute or two then comes back, but I work at home on certain days and have a couple of scheduled Zoom meetings each week that run one hour between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to avoid purchasing a new router -- not so much the money, but mostly because I have too many gadgets and computers in my house to begin with.

 

Here is an excerpt from the log. The log only shows today, plus, for some reason, January 30 of this year. (Yesterday's log showed yesterday, plus January 30 -- go figure.) The time in the log, 4:02, is two minutes after the router reset itself. I don't know why the log doesn't show the reset.
