Has anyone been able to make the Connection Preference setting work in the Guest Network?  It works in Main and in ioT, but not Guest Network.  I can't find a setting to change it.

I have observed through my participation in the forums that there is significant inconsistency in the firmware availability for Deco models.

For instance, my XE75 Pro does not currently support the auto-update feature, although it is available for other Deco models. Additionally, there is a beta version for the XE75 Pro available for testing, but it is not compatible with the hardware version of my device.

If you are unable to locate the option in the Deco app, it may not be available for your specific model and hardware version. I recommend submitting a support ticket to request further assistance.

I have included the necessary steps to do so below.

1. Email support at support.usa@tp-link.com.
2. Include the model number of your Deco router, as well as the hardware and firmware versions.
3. Describe the issues you are facing and send the email.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

I'm afraid that the Guest Network doesn't support settings "Connection Preference".

Best regards.

Would you consider adding that as a feature request?

Thank you for the response.  I'm coming off of an Asus ET12 mesh system.  (I  tried their new BQ16 WiFi 7 system, which was a complete disaster.)  They allow 3 Guest SSID each, for 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz and allow "binding" to each device, no matter if the device is on the guest network or not.  I have 18 security cameras that I like to keep on a separate SSID and since they are all stationary, I prefer to direct them to specific nodes, to prevent disconnection.  Hopefully, TP-Link will add this feature.

Do you have an extra Deco unit available? You can establish a separate network specifically for your cameras.

Alternatively, you can perform a factory reset on one of your current Decos by pressing the reset button located on the bottom of the unit and waiting for the light to start blinking blue.

Whichever option you decide to pursue, please open the Deco app, navigate to the network tab, click the "+" sign in the top right corner, select the "Create a network" option, and follow the prompts provided.

Thank you for the suggestion, however, I don't think it will work, as I already need the full 3 piece set for coverage.  One reason I switched from Asus to TP-Link is that they offer the outdoor/weatherproof nodes, which should help with reception of outdoor cameras.  After only having the BE95 setup for a few days, I think I'll go the route of adding two outdoor nodes and be happy with that.  I'll leave the cameras on the guest network and the majority of other devices on IoT.   Thanks!

You could establish a new network with the outdoor units, which would allow you to select which camera connects to each outdoor unit. Regardless, I am pleased to hear that you resolved the issue.
